Children’s bedroom wallpaper ideas
When it comes to decorating your child’s bedroom it can be quite a task. Children and teenagers have definite ideas of what they’d like in their room while parents want the room to reflect the overall style of the house. Usually a child’s insistence (or should that be tantrum) wins the day but there can be compromise if both sides of the household are presented with some decent choices ‚Äì none more so than with wallpaper. Here, we take a look at the top wallpaper designs on the market right now which will keep kids and parents happy.
Choosing wallpaper for your child’s bedroom
Even in their early years, try to involve your child with the design choices for their room. As they get older, stating what colour palette they must choose from and whether they can, or cannot, have a pattern will only serve to fuel arguments and result in everyone digging their heels in. Assuming the child is old enough to know what they like (and that age seems to be getting younger as the years go by), make the choices together so everybody is happy.
Remember that wallpaper doesn’t have to cover every wall so if your child wants to cover their room with posters and pin-ups but you would like a wallpaper print, compromise and have a couple of walls that fit in with your design plans and leave the rest in a neutral colour for their own wall space.
Nursery wallpaper
If you’re creating a nursery for your newborn you’ll naturally want wallpaper that reflects the fact it’s a room for a baby. However, the room should also be a soothing place for the parent as well as the child so you can both spend time together and relax. So, choose colours and prints that will do just that. Many parents are now going for subtle colours with a simple pattern that will hold a baby’s interest.
